Big News #1 (of 4): REPRESENT
I’ve been vague about four pieces of Big News for a while now. Two will be revealed this week. Two more will be revealed at NYCC. There will likely be more.
I’ve signed with Paradigm, the talent agency representing comics creators like Warren Ellis (including Crooked Little Vein) and Nate Simpson (you’re all reading Nonplayer, right?) as well as ton of Other Media folks like Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will.I.Am, Adrien Brody and Gary Oldman. They’ll be representing not only my creator-owned comics in terms of media adaptation/merchandising/etc. (starting with BRUTAL), but myself as a creator in not just comics, but, yeah, all that Other Media I keep mentioning. I’ve got a lot brewing right now in and out of comics, they’re the folks I’m trusting to make it happen.
I’ve talked to other agencies, but no one I talked to seem as equally both well diversified and specialized as Paradigm. They’re huge, with offices all over the country and sub-agents all over the world, each with their own specialties whether it be film, television, novels, comics, foreign licensing, whatever. My agent in specific really knows comics and it makes me confident he’ll be treating both myself and more importantly, the work right.
So, I’m stoked. Glad that’s finally out of the bag.
Stay tuned to SDCC for #2. You can probably guess what it’s about, but the specifics are likely to knock you on your ass.
